I am a registered art therapist, certified K-12 art teacher, professional artist, and mother of two. All of these roles inform my current work in fiber art, most specifically the power of fiber art as a meditative practice. I have also developed several online workshops focused on self-care through the use of art and use the research in neuroscience to guide my fiber work as a means of connecting and healing with viewers and patients.
I use fiber, both recycled and new, to create abstract fiber compositions. I create each piece with
the deliberate intention to convey a positive energy to the viewer and believe that fiber art and the
process of creating fiber art is meditative and healing to both the artist and the viewer.
I am currently researching the idea that intentions can be imbedded into a piece of artwork and exploring
the limits and possibilities of reaching viewers and affecting their emotions through my work.
