You Are The Universe

I began an art project in 2020 that centered around the meditation of a positive intention. Bundles were created by wrapping fiber and string around a piece of paper with a positive intention written on it. During this process, I (and whoever else made one) meditated on the feeling of that word until the bundle was complete, then it was added to the group. Each wrapped bundle is created as a meditation, holding the positive intention in mind and body during the process.

Each bundle was initially hung in my studio, then they (and more that were created over the years) were hung at the Detroit Visionaries exhibit at Liberal Arts Gallery in 2021, then at Environments and Microcosms exhibition in September 2024, where participants were encouraged to add their own meditation bundle.

The most recent iteration was exhibited at Courage and Soar during ArtPrize 2025. A 3D interactive art piece that is a visual and physical representation of positive intention. The artwork invites you to actively participate by creating a wrapped bundle of positive  intention and adding it to the main art piece.

The keychains evolved out of my desire to carry one of the bundles with me as a way to always bring my focus back to the positive intention.

This is a self-care, self-love art process based on the quote:

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection”
