Art & Mindfulness

Art & Mindfulness is a collection of creative exercises designed to develop self-awareness and facilitate personal growth. These have been developed with art therapy and neuroscience ideas in mind. Our brain is capable of growing and changing through practice. When you purchase the course, you have access to these videos to use anytime that fits in your schedule. It is my hope that incorporating these Art & Mindfulness exercises in your self-care routine will help improve your overall wellbeing.

What You Need

Most of these exercises can be done with pen (or pencil) and paper. However, to get the most out of the creative experience you will want a variety of materials. I have compiled a supple list to order from Dick Blick .com through an affiliate link. The link will take you to the Dick Blick website where you can choose the quantity of the items you want and click to purchase. The supplies consist of some of my favorite art making tools that I recommend, but they are not required to do these exercises. You may have your own favorites - use them. If you don’t know what to use, then experiment with what you have. You can order this set of materials and have most of what you need for all the lessons in here.

What To Expect

Each video consists of a short demonstration of the art exercise and an explanation of the intention behind it. You are encouraged to set aside an hour each day, or at least each week, to practice self-care. At the beginning of your self-care time, watch one of the videos and at the end of the demonstration set a timer for yourself for 15 minutes to work on the task - longer if you have the time. Be sure to write the date and your self reflection on the back of your work as a reminder for yourself. You can look back on the Art & Mindfulness exercises you completed and see your progress.

What To Do Next

Set up a space in your home where you can have your supplies ready. Make this space comfortable and beautiful. A place you enjoy spending time each week, or each day if you’re so inspired. Schedule time on your calendar for this work. Right now, add an event into your calendar on your phone for one hour each week that you will do this work. One hour each week that you are committing to your personal growth - your-self care. And remember that if you want to be able to care for other people, you need to care for yourself first!

"Kelly's Art & Mindfulness sessions have taught me about how doing art can be centering, calming, and healing. She helped me through some difficult days and now I'm able to turn to art when my head is spinning."
